Meet The Team
Dr. Gambetta daCosta
Fondly known as "Gambo," is originally from Madgao, Goa, is the heart of HPF. A recovering addict himself, his personal journey fuels his mission to help others find lasting freedom. Embracing the motto "You can keep what you have, only by giving it away," he founded HPF as a beacon of hope for those struggling with addiction.
Aruna daCosta
A Bengaluru resident and a former corporate professional, now serves as a Trustee and collaboratively works alongside her husband, Dr. daCosta, in managing the day-to-day affairs of the rehab center.
Vinod Naik
From a traditional fishing community in Carmona, Goa, overcame a long struggle with alcoholism to become a dedicated caregiver at HPF. He has been sober for several years now, devoting his life to helping the residents at the centre.
Freddy Fernandes
From Chandor, Goa, once a global culinary chef, overcame alcoholism at HPF. Now, he mentors new patients, guiding them through initial challenges, leading therapy sessions, and assisting with medical procedures.
Govind Tarcar
A former computer engineer, is a nine-year sober resident at Higher Power Foundation. His tech skills maintain the facility while his personal recovery fuels his passion for helping others. With REBT qualifications, he leads psycho-educational and group counseling sessions to support resident recovery.
