What are the signs of alcoholism or drug addiction?
Addiction can manifest differently for everyone. Here are some common signs:
The Michigan Alcohol Screening Test (MAST) can be a helpful tool for self-assessment.
This brief questionnaire asks questions about your drinking habits and potential consequences. While it doesn't diagnose addiction, a high score can indicate a need for further evaluation
Increased tolerance
You need to use more and more of the substance to get the same effect.
Withdrawal symptoms
You experience physical or emotional discomfort when you try to stop using.
Loss of control
You can't control how much or how often you use the substance.
Continued use despite negative consequences
You continue to use even though it's causing problems in your life.
Neglecting responsibilities
You neglect work, school, or other important responsibilities due to substance use.
Changes in behavior
You exhibit secretive or reckless behavior related to your substance use.
Mental health issues
You may experience anxiety, depression, or other mental health problems alongside addiction.
What are the benefits of rehab?

Will rehab be confidential?

How long does rehab treatment last?
The core rehab program at HPF typically lasts for three controlled, confined, and commanded months. This intensive phase focuses on structured healing, detoxification (if needed), and building a strong foundation for recovery.
Following the core program, we offer a one-month (or longer) optional transitional program. This program emphasizes commitment, responsibility, and accountability as you prepare to reintegrate into everyday life.
The total duration of your treatment can be tailored to your individual needs. We believe in creating a personalized pathway to recovery, and our team will work with you to determine the most appropriate length of stay.
Here's a breakdown
-
Core Program: 3 Months (Controlled, Confined, Commanded)

What therapies do you offer?
At HPF, we understand that addiction recovery requires a multifaceted approach. That's why we offer a variety of therapies to address the psychological, emotional, and behavioral aspects of addiction. Here's a glimpse into the therapies we offer:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
This evidence-based therapy helps identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to addiction.
Motivational Therapy
This therapy focuses on building your motivation and commitment to change. It encourages you to explore your reasons for wanting to recover and develop strategies to overcome challenges.
Mindfulness and Meditation
These practices help cultivate awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations without judgment. This increased awareness allows you to respond more effectively to situations that might trigger cravings or relapse.
Counseling
A cornerstone of our treatment program, individual and group counseling sessions provide a safe space to address your unique experiences and challenges.
-
Individual Counseling: Offers a dedicated space to explore your personal story, develop coping mechanisms, and gain self-awareness.
-
Group Counseling: Provides a supportive environment to connect with others who understand your struggles, share experiences, and learn from one another.
Combined Approach:
We believe in combining these therapies to create a comprehensive treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Our team will work with you to determine the most beneficial therapy combination for your journey.
Additionally, we may incorporate:
-
Relapse Prevention: equips you with tools to identify triggers, develop coping mechanisms, and avoid relapse.

Do you offer detox-only programs?
While our primary program incorporates detoxification as needed, we currently don't offer a standalone detox-only program.
However, if you're interested in exploring your recovery options, we understand the importance of taking the first step. We offer a paid Outpatient Consultation (OPD) with one of our addiction specialists.

Can addiction be cured?

Addiction can be arrested and replaced with a profound sense of being and presence – in mind, body, and spirit. Through our comprehensive program that focuses on recovery foremost over ‘cure’, you can address the root causes of your addiction and look forward to a future filled with hope, joy, and immense possibility.
What is the success rate of your programs?

Recovery is a personal journey, and success looks different for everyone. While we can't disclose specific success rates due to privacy regulations, we can share this:

At HPF, we've witnessed incredible transformations when individuals commit to the program with honesty, open-mindedness, and a genuine willingness to change.

Our program is designed to empower you with the tools and support you need to achieve long-term recovery. However, the outcome ultimately depends on your dedication to the process.
What happens after I complete rehab?

Completing rehab is a significant achievement on your recovery journey. At HPF, we understand the importance of continued support beyond the program.
Here's what you can expect:
Transitional Housing (Optional):
We offer a highly-preferred Transitional Housing program to graduates of our rehab program. This program provides a safe, structured environment as you reintegrate into daily life.
Benefits of Transitional Housing:
Gradual Reintegration
Allows you to adjust to living independently while receiving ongoing support.
Continued Structure
Provides a supportive framework as you practice the skills you learned in rehab.
Accountability
Offers a safe space to build accountability and responsibility for your recovery.
Peer Support
Connects you with a community of individuals who understand your journey.
Following Post-Rehab Recommendations:
Our team will develop a personalized plan with recommendations for continued support following rehab, whether you choose transitional housing or not. This plan may include:
Outpatient therapy: Provides ongoing counseling and support as you navigate challenges and build a fulfilling life.
Support groups: Connect you with a network of peers who can offer encouragement and understanding.
Relapse prevention planning: Equips you with strategies to identify triggers and avoid relapse.
Aftercare programs: Provides additional resources and support tailored to your specific needs.
Will I be able to continue working or pursue education during treatment?
Rehab prioritizes full focus on healing, so work/education is on hold. Our optional transitional housing might allow part-time options to ease your reintegration. Talk to admissions for details!
What happens if I relapse?

We understand that setbacks can happen. Relapse is a possibility on the road to recovery, and it doesn't define you.

If you experience a relapse, know that we're here for you with unwavering support. We'll work together to identify what triggered the relapse, adjust your recovery plan, and get you back on the path to healing.
Can my family be involved in my treatment?

Absolutely! Family support plays a crucial role in recovery.
Facilitated telephone calls permitted during the core rehab program are limited to Saturdays, 4-6 PM.
We understand the limitations on in-person interaction may seem restrictive. However, the focus of this initial phase is on your healing process.
Will I have access to mental health services?

Yes, mental health services are a cornerstone of our program and key to your healing. Here at HPF, we don't just treat the symptoms, we dig deeper to understand the root cause. Our comprehensive program incorporates psychotherapy to address those issues and promote lasting recovery.

Is the 12-Step Program right for me?

Consider this: Are you seeking a path that goes beyond simply managing addiction? The 12 Steps offer a holistic approach, aiming to heal not just your physical dependence, but your entire being.
It is a journey towards wholeness. It encourages shedding the fragmented identities addiction can create and embracing a more complete sense of self. This transformation can be fueled by a spiritual connection, a higher power (interpreted in your own way), that provides strength and purpose.
The program isn't for everyone, but if you crave a transformative experience, one that sees life through a spiritual lens, then the 12 Steps might be the missing piece you've been searching for.

What are the causes of alcoholism and drug addiction?

Addiction isn't caused by a single factor, but rather by a complex interplay of three main influences:

-
Biological Factors: These are inborn vulnerabilities that can make some people more susceptible to addiction. This can include genetics, brain chemistry, and even a family history of addiction.
-
Psychological Factors: Mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, or trauma can increase the risk of addiction. People may use substances to numb emotional pain or cope with difficult situations.
-
Social and Environmental Factors: Your environment plays a huge role. Growing up in a household with substance abuse, peer pressure to use drugs, or easy access to addictive substances can all increase the risk.
